Allergy Research Flax seed oil provides an organically sourced Flax oil. Flax seed oil is the most potent known source of alpha-linolenic acid, an essential omega-3 fatty acid. It is extracted from organically grown flax seeds using a special cold-pressing process, which minimises the damaging effects of light, oxygen and heat. Flax seed oil is also rich in the omega-6 essential fatty acid, linoleic acid, as well as the omega-9 essential fatty acid, oleic acid. With a total EFA content greater than 70% and a total un-saturation of greater than 90%, this is a cost-effective source of omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids. Essential fatty acids are involved in prostaglandin synthesis, hormone production, immune response, fat metabolism and cell membrane integrity and fluidity.
Flax Seed Powder is high in both soluble and insoluble fibre. It is one of nature’s richest sources of lignans and is a source of omega-3 essential fatty acids. Flax Seed Powder has a delightfully nutty taste and is a safe, organic alternative to psyllium and other fibre supplements.
Suggested Use:
As a dietary supplement, put 1 to 2 level tablespoons into a large glass of water or juice. Stir well and drink immediately. Follow with an additional glass of water. Do not swallow in dry form. Flax Seed Powder is safe to use daily and can be added to blender drinks and baked goods. Substitute for bran, wheat germ and eggs in baking recipes (1 tablespoon of Flax Seed Powder and 3 tablespoons of water equals one egg; mix and let stand for 30 seconds before using in a recipe).
