Product Description:
BioCare HCL & Pepsin (Stomach Acid & Pepsin). The healthy stomach normally secretes adequate amounts of hydrochloric acid (HCI) and pepsin for the complete digestion of foods, in particular proteins. Many factors can disrupt acid production such as infections (even something as simple as a cold), surgery, stress or trauma, fever, candidiasis, spicy foods, foods eaten too hot or too cold and certain drugs.
FEATURES
Provides HCI as betaine hydrochloride and pepsin.
Pepsin hydrolyses all types of proteins, reducing them to polypeptides.
HCI provides the optimal environment (around pH 2) for pepsin activity.
Adequate levels of HCI are required for the absorption of minerals such as iron, calcium and zinc.
HCI provides an inhibitory environment for potential pathogenic bacteria ingested with food.
Encapsulation allows for a quicker release of the ingredients and reduces the likelihood of gastric wall irritation that can sometimes occur with tablets.
Low potency and allows for more flexibility in adjusting individual requirements.

One vegetable capsule of BioCare HCL & Pepsin provide:
• Betaine Hydrochloride 200mg
• Pepsin 100mg
NON-ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Cellulose, Silica, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate
DIRECTIONS FOR USE OF BioCare HCL & Pepsin:
Recommended Intake: One capsule taken three times a day with food and a glass of water or to be taken as professionally directed.
NB. HCI & Pepsin capsules should not be opened or chewed.

CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Not suitable for individuals with colitis, gastritis or ulcerative conditions of the stomach or colon. Some ndividuals may suffer gastritis during pregnancy and should not take this product in this situation.
