Pines Barley Grass is grown in the rich organic soils of Kansas, the place known worldwide as "The Wheatgrass State" because the climate is perfect for growing Wheat and other cereals.
The Barley Grass grows slowly over the winter months to ensure the highest possible nutrient content. The Grass is then harvested when it is 3" high, rushed to low temperature dehydrators and then into cold storage.
No herbicides or pesticides are used during the growing process.

Pines Barley Grass is a rich source of cleansing Chlorophyll. It contains 20 Amino Acids, including all the 9 Essential Amino Acids. Barley Grass is high in Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium, which are necessary for healthy bones, teeth, hair and skin. Each serving contains at least 1 gram of easy-to-digest Vegetable Protein and as much Vitamin C as an orange.
ORGANICALLY GROWN FOR PURITY:
Pines Barley Grass is grown outdoors for more than 200 days in Kansas, an ideal environment for Barley Grass and Wheat Grass growing. This climate allows for a natural growing cycle, which in turn produces more nutritionally concentrated Barley Grass.
When the Barley seeds are planted in autumn, the leaves only grow about one inch above the soil in the first month. Yet the root system already reaches deep below the frost line, preparing to sustain the plant's life during the cold winter months to come. During the winter dormancy, the roots slowly absorb and store nutrients from the soil. With warmer daytime temperatures in the spring, the Barley plant again converts sunlight into energy and utilises the nutrients stored in its roots to transform simple sugars into Complex Carbohydrates, Vitamins, Amino Acids and other Nutrients, resulting in beautiful, nutritious blades of grass.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BARLEY GRASS AND WHEAT GRASS?
Research on cereal grasses as human food began in 1930. More than 100 individual research papers have been published on cereal grasses. It is commonly understood that there is no nutritional difference between Wheat Grass and Barley Grass as long as they are grown under similar conditions. However, Barley Grass does taste sweeter than Wheat Grass, which is slightly more bitter.
