Grape seed extract is rich in proanthocyanidins, a special class of water-soluble bioflavonoids which are excellent free radical scavengers. Proanthocyanidins are believed to play a role in maintaining good health. Proanthocyanidins are unique and powerful antioxidants, shown to have exponentially stronger freeradical fighting ability than vitamins C, E or even beta-carotene. These water-soluble bioflavonoids are also active in fatty tissue.
