When is the next product review date ?

Our Buying Team reviews products on a quarterly basis. The next review period is April.

How do I book a Rep to visit one of your stores?

Please use our store booking form.

How do you evaluate products?

Our decision to list products depends on a variety of factors which are taken into account by the buyers:

  1. Product – We are looking for innovative, unique and breakthrough products to list in our stores and online.
  2. Suitability to the business – Products must have approved ingredients, meet EU legal requirements, be packaged for UK consumers, meet certain quality standards and be ethically sourced/produced.
  3. Pricing / Competitiveness – Pricing of the products should be competitive to similar products and/or be positioned correctly according to the market.
  4. Margins – Margin requirements for different categories vary.
  5. Marketing Support – In order for a successful relationship and for the products to sell well in stores we rely upon the supplier to support the marketing of the products suitably and have an active marketing plan/strategy.
  6. Product Training – For staff to be able to successfully sell your products in store a level or training must be available to them on the products.
  7. Distribution / Delivery – Suppliers must be able to suitably supply our stores or warehouse.
Do you need a full-size sample?

We require full size samples so that we can physically see how the final product will appear on our shelves. This information helps us to plan shelf space and assumed value for money.

How do I get a product launched into every store?

Sometimes, we may only agree to list items in certain stores. This is due to the there being a different demand for certain products in each demographic area. We may also want to see the sales of the item and support that the brand delivers before placing them in more shops. The final decision is made at head office.

Why may I need to go through a wholesaler?

Some items such as food and other quickly perishable items, may need to be in a wholesaler before we can purchase. This is due to many reasons such as smaller order quantities, and the number of food brands that we have listed.

I’m listed with a wholesaler, and I’m listed on the Revital purchasing system. Does that mean shops will sell my products?

An agreement to list your products is not an agreement to sell them. Some items such as food and drink are up to each store managers discretion, and we cannot always enforce each store takes your item.

What do I need to write in the ‘web description’ column of the New Line Form?

This is the description as to how it should appear on the website. The web description should be a short paragraph that details the product and the benefits. This needs to be claims compliant and meet the MHRA and EFSA standard.

What should I put in the ‘product codes’ section of the New Line Form?

We require product codes so that we can identify each product. If you are a new supplier, you will need to create codes for us that we can use for the entire time of our business together. These codes are also use to reorder stock.

My product is free from, however I don’t have certificates, can I still claim this?

You may claim ‘vegetarian’, ‘vegan’ and ‘paleo’ without a certificate if your product meets this standard.

Other claims such as ‘gluten free’, ‘nut free’ or ‘organic’ require certification, and we require a copy of these certificates before a listing can be considered.
