How does Relief Synergy work?
An essential oil is made up exclusively of volatile aromatic molecules. It is a complex mixture of over 100 different chemical compounds. They have distinct type of chemical structure which identifies the specific aroma and the therapeutic properties of that given oil. Each chemical component has its own characteristic smell and biological activity once absorbed into the body.
Essential oils penetrate/diffuse through the skin rapidly. This is because the essential oil molecules are smaller than those for example, of vegetable oil or base cream. All essential oil constituents have molecular weight well below 500, so are easily absorbed through the skin.
Relief is a formulation of 100% pure ten essential oils. It is applied undiluted as a friction massage directly on the skin in little quantities (4-6 drops). The oil is absorbed quickly thus bringing pain relief rapidly and efficiently. Most of the products available in the market today, are mixed with carrier oils or cream bases, which make the oils viscous. Viscosity tends to slow absorption through the skin. This is because the carrier oils or creams have the molecular weight of more than 500 (which makes them viscous). It also means that a greater degree of external effort, i.e. massage, is needed to enhance the absorption rate. The absorption of the components would be far less by this method than that of application of Relief.
Relief is a formulation of essential oils which have therapeutic properties (listed in Int. Pharmacopoeia) of being anti-inflammatory, analgesic, muscle relaxant and circulation stimulant. Few drops are rubbed onto the problem area and within few minutes the molecules of the oil release their properties. As the blood capillaries come in contact, the molecules of the oil are carried away in the blood where the bio-chemical re-action of the therapeutic properties takes place. In most cases the effects of Relief can last up to 24 hours but in acute cases it can be from 2-6 hours. This depends on the release of essential oil components from epidermis into the dermis, depending on the physical strain
